Welcome to Lococycling
Lococycling is merely the concept of keeping materials local to recycle or up-cycle them. I take something annoying and turn it into something useful - plastic grocery bags into useful crocheted material. This is my hobby and something I do in my spare time. After several friends saw what I was working on, they suggested I share with the world. I post new items on the Blog as soon as I finish them and be sure to visit the Store to see what I have available for sale.
History
My beginnings were in Alaska where recycling options are quite limited and typically plastic has to be sent out of state to be processed. In finding a usage for the bags, its grown from there and I am now based outside of Seattle. Check out What Is This? to see the history behind my projects and the Gallery for ideas & experiments over the years.
Available for Purchase
NEWS! I'm now working with Pip & Lola's located in Tacoma, WA and some items are featured in their shop - items will list in their description. They feature locally handmade crafts and a variety of items. Check them out on their Blog and on Facebook where they feature new items every couple of days.
I have my current stock of completed items available for sale on the following pages sorted by type. These are updated regularly, so check back often. I use USPS flat rate and encourage others to do the same. Currently everything is listed as "Buy It Now" through Google Wallet. If preferred, I also have PayPal, so use the Contact form and let me know which item you're looking at and a good way/time to contact you. Get started shopping at the Store. I am always open to requests so use the Contact page and reference an idea.

Contribute
As the intention, I would rather reuse an item to prevent waste than add to the demand. I can use provided bags to create an item or integrate them into my supply for creating more items. If you would like to contribute or have an item made, use the Contact form for more information. Similarly, if you would like to learn more about how to create your own items, I can help with advice and suggestions also available via the Contact page at this time. In the future I plan to add a "how-to" page, but here is a great link on cutting the material. The 4 example materials below are all contributed material.
